Bunratty Castle

This morning we checked out of our hotel in Limerick (bidding goodbye to the nice desk man, Andy) and headed toward
Doolin...our next stop.
A few quick notes about our hotel in Limerick. It was really nice but we noticed a few odd things, in comparison to hotels we have stayed at in the USA.
#1 In order to get the lights in the room to work you have to stick your room key in a little thing on the wall inside the door. The lights will not work if the key card is not in this little doo-dad.
#2 The hairdryer will only work while you are holding down the power button...irritating! My hand kept cramping!
#3 The only outlet in the bathroom says that is specifically for "shavers". Why?
Ok...that's really it. But odd, right?
We decided that since we had plenty of time to get to Dooling we would stop off at Bunratty Castle & Folk Park in Bunratty. This is a village between Shannon & Limerick. The Castle was amazing and the whole village was set up to resemble what the village would have looked like back in the 1500's. It was so cool! They gave us a map of the property with each building numbered so you could give yourself a self-tour while still getting an explanation for each building. We took a ton of pics, but here are a few.
We got to walk up on top of the tall tower so we took a picture of the view from the tower. Beautiful!
This castle had a TON of stairs! All very skinny & steep too! There were a few ladies that were pretty freaked out. Shawn thought it was fun, but we were worn out by the end!

At the end of the property was the Bunratty House and Garden. This is us in the garden with a view of the beautiful scenery off in the distance. Love it!

We had a great time at the Bunratty Castle...then we were off on the raod again to Doolin.
