Welcome Marcie!

Eric and I have both been wanting to get a dog, and Mom and Shawn finally let us have our way!  We went to the animal shelter today after I picked up Eric from school and we came home with Marcie!  She's a Coon Hound Mix of some sort...and so cute!  She's about 35# and estimated to be about 8 months old.  We think she's going to fit in well with our family!

Almost on the move!

So little Logan is learning to crawl.  Barely.  He's not really trying very hard yet, but we're working on rollling over too and that is a bit overwhelming I think ;)  This morning when I got home from work and he and decided to have some playtime on the floor in my room.  He's doing so much more than he was even a week ago...reaching out and grabbing at things.  It is so exciting to watch!  Our playtime on the floor today involved me placing his pacifier just out of his reach and seeing what he would do.

I think he realized my trick...because he gave me this look.

But in the end he played and had a great time!  Then I went to bed :)

Sleepy Boy

What a beautiful baby!  I could watch him sleep all day :)  He looks so peaceful.

That is all.  He is just the most beautiful baby...ever!  Even cuter than his momma was, and Mimi was a darn cute baby!  I just love this sweet face :)

Football Sundays :)

It is football season again!  Yay!

The Colts and Bears games won't always be shown on tv in Texas so we'll be visiting random sports bars most weeks to watch.  Luckily for week 1 the Colts were playing in Houston against the Texans so we were able to watch the game at home. We had nice day planned...I got a pretty nice spread of food set up :)

Mimi and Ian even came over...but they didn't really watch the game.  They just talked and ate.  We decided to try to make Logan a football fan early on...

I think he's gonna be a Bears fan...he kept trying to get rid of Shawn's little Colts football :)  We weren't able to watch the Bears game, but next week they play the Cowboys so it'll be on for sure here!!  Yay!

Happy Anniversary to Us!

A year ago, Shawn and I were married!  The day was perfect and we were excited to remember and reflect on our first year together away from home for a few days.  We went to stay at the resort where Mimi works, The Lakeway Resort & Spa.

We arrived on Monday evening, which was our anniversary :)

We had one full day at the resort, Tuesday, and as luck would have it a stupid Tropical Storm made it RAIN ALL DAY!  Literally...all day!  We decided to at least try to make the most of the day, so we went to the hot tub while the rain was light.

Tuesday night we decided to drink the Honeymoon Mead we bought in Ireland on our honeymoon.  We planned to drink it on our first anniversary when we bought it.  It smelled really strong, but surprising it tasted really good!  It tasted like honey.

So...even though our trip got completely rained out, we still had a great time!  We had good food and drinks and got to relax together for 2 days.  Exactly what we needed!
